Michelle “Shelley” Ann (nee Bandwen) Bohrer, 61, was born on October 27, 1964, and passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, surrounded by her family. She grew up in Seven Hills, Ohio, and later built a home in Sharon Township, where she raised her family.

She was the beloved wife of Mike for 34 years. Loving mother of Rachel Meadows (Jack), Angela Zanzig (Nathan), and Michael Bohrer. Cherished “Mimi” to her granddaughter, Emma Meadows. Devoted daughter of Tom and Karen Bandwen. Daughter-in-law of Joan and the late Al Bohrer. Dear sister of Tom (Lisa) Bandwen and Mike (Amy) Bandwen. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by uncle William DeNova and brothers-in-law Thom and Dan Bohrer.

Shelley was a graduate of the University of Akron and dedicated 35 years to the Brecksville-Broadview Heights City Schools, first as a special education teacher and later as a school psychologist. She touched countless students’ and families’ lives throughout her career.

Shelley’s quiet and loyal faith shaped the way she lived, expressed in the steady, selfless way she cared for her family and served others. She was so proud of her family and loved them more than anything in this world. She was also a devoted lover of animals throughout her life, and a dear and treasured friend to many. Her vibrant spirit will be greatly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Hilary Church, 2750 W. Market St. Fairlawn, Ohio on SATURDAY, July 25 at 11:00 AM, with visitation at the church starting at 9:00 AM. A private family interment will follow at Granger Fairview Cemetery.

Her family is deeply grateful to the friends, family, and coworkers who have surrounded them with love and grace during this time. They also offer heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Taussig Cancer Center and Cleveland Clinic MICU for the compassionate care they gave Shelley.

In Shelley’s memory, the family suggests donations to Stewart’s Caring Place and One of a Kind Pet Rescue. Flowers are also welcomed.
