Sue Larson

Sue Larson (nee Gray), 87, of North Portage Path, Akron, passed away peacefully Monday, May 12, 2025, at the side of her daughter Amy.

Sue was the wife of Robert Larson, who she met during her 30+ year career at the University of Akron. Sue was a wonderful friend of many from Akron and Hudson, Ohio, where she lived for 38 years, and was beloved by her family, whom she strongly supported over the years. She was born in Akron and attended Buchtel High School. Before working at the office of the Vice President for Business and Finance at the University of Akron, Sue also had a career at the Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio. Sue was an excellent cook, traveled widely and was a life-long avid sports fan, rooting for the Guardians, Cavaliers, Browns, Buckeyes and the Zips.

Those who were fortunate enough to count themselves among her friends knew that they could always count on Sue. She would go to any length to support her friends and family. To her grandchildren, she was known as GM, grandmother but also general manager. Sue belonged to the Westminster Presbyterian Church of Akron.

Sue is survived by daughter Amy Davidson and son-in-law Kevin LePage of Lerici and Rome, Italy; grandson Trevor LePage and his wife Taylor of Denver, Colorado; grandson Christopher LePage of Innsbruck, Austria; stepson Ron Larson and his wife Sue Ann of Clover, South Carolina. Sue was also the beloved mother of David Davidson, and stepmother to Gary Larson, who both passed away in 1975. She is survived by her brother Ken Myles and wife Martha of Carmel, Indiana and sister Mary Kay Thompson of Owensboro, Kentucky and many wonderful nieces and nephews, such as Sandy and Mike Larson of Seville, Ohio, and Karen and Frank Michniak of Tiffin, Ohio helped Sue over the last years providing her amazing support and special, loving attention. She was preceded in death by her beloved older brother Robert of Tiffin, Ohio and brother-in-law Paul Thompson of Owensboro, Kentucky.

Friends may call on TUESDAY, May 27, 2025, from 4-6 PM at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Fairlawn, OH 44333. Funeral service will take place WEDNESDAY, May 28, at 2 PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1250 W. Exchange St. Akron, OH 44313. Interment in Markillie Cemetery, Hudson, OH.
