It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William “Bill” Pierce Bishop, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, who left this world on September 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 25, 1959, in Akron, Ohio, Bill was the cherished son of Bill and Mona Bishop. His early years were spent in the warmth of a family that instilled in him the Christian values of hard work, kindness, and a love for life that he carried throughout his days.

Taking after his dad, Bill played basketball and baseball throughout his childhood, continuing into high school. He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1977 and furthered his education at Catawba College in North Carolina. His love of sports continued throughout his life. He often would track the stats while watching the Guardians, keeping his clipboard close at hand.

His biggest joy in life was spending time with his wife Sandi. Married for 37 years, they truly were best friends.

A dedicated and hardworking individual, Bill built a career as a Production Operator with Little Tikes and Steere Enterprises, where he was known for his commitment and reliability.

Beyond his professional life, Bill was a NASCAR fan, which Sandi learned to enjoy with him. They traveled to see several races, even naming one of their dogs Bristol, after the racetrack. Their love for animals was well known, and they shared their home with many cats and dogs over the years, providing them with love and care.

Bill is preceded in death by his father, William M. Bishop, and his beloved wife, Sandi Bishop, whose memories he cherished dearly. He is survived by his mother Mona Bishop; sister, Laura Bishop; brother, Rob Bishop (Caroline); and nephews, Colin and Clayton, who will forever hold fond memories of their uncle. Bill was also a caring stepfather to Debi VanLandingham and her husband Lewis. He enjoyed the time he spent with them and their children and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bill's memory to One of a Kind Pet Rescue Inc, 1929 W. Market Street, Akron, OH 44313 www.oneofakindpets.com or The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, 350 Opportunity Pkwy, Akron, OH 44307 www.akroncantonfoodbank.org
