Barbara N. Eckman

Barbara N. Eckman went home to meet her Savior on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.  She was born in Akron to Gregory J. and Althea S. Klein.  An Akron native, she graduated from Buchtel High School and Kent State University with a degree in Special Education.  She was a devoted teacher of the hearing impaired children for the Akron Public School system and was a Martha Holden Jennings award recipient during her tenure.  During her retirement she would travel to her second home in Hilton Head, SC playing tennis and knitting.

Preceded in death by her parents and step-father Earl G. Smith, husband Jerald F. Eckman and siblings Clarice A. Kuhn and Gregory J. Klein.  She leaves her loving nephews Greg and Bruce Kuhn and niece Barbara Enlow as well as great nephews and a great niece.

Graveside services have already taken place at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls.
