Deborah Ann Shansky, 66, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 18, 2021 after a lengthy illness in Rockford, Illinois. She was born on February 15, 1955, to the late Richard and Marjorie Burgess in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Neshannock High School and continued her education at Kent State University, graduating with a degree in nursing, and was employed at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio.

She is survived by her daughters, Jessica (Adam Wilms) Mazula and Rachael (Thomas) Rohan; brothers, Thomas Burgess and Alan (Lorena) Burgess, and former husband Bob Shansky. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Marjorie Burgess. Debbie loved the simple and extravagant pleasures in life: chatting with friends, cooking her favorite dishes, enjoying the company of her pets, and shopping with her daughters. She had a great sense of humor and offered supportive advice to all. Special gratitude to Kathy Dall’Osto who took Debbie under her wing and provided unwavering companionship and care over the last several years. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.

Calling will be held from 12:00 PM- 1:00 PM on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Billow Funeral Home 85 N. Miller Rd., Fairlawn, Ohio 44333, where private family services will follow. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to the Humane Society or the World Wildlife Fund.
