Dolly Gyenge (nee Hill) Obituary

Dolly F. Gyenge (nee Hill) formally of Akron, Ohio died on June 26, 2022 at the age of 93 after a short illness. She was born in Greensburg, Ohio but grew up in Canal Fulton. She was the daughter of Sylvia and Samuel Hill; sister to Walter, Gilbert, Francis and Betty all preceded her in death.

She married her husband, John Gyenge in 1950 and enjoyed 50 happy years together until his death in 2000. She lived her adult life in West Akron and was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. She also loved golf, gardening and cooking.

Dolly is survived by her daughter, Camilla Wightman(Scott) of Hilton Head, South Carolina and her beloved grandson, Michael (Zoie) of New York City.

She moved to Hilton Head, South Carolina in 2021 to be close to her family after living 5 years in Hudson at Laurel Lake Retirement community.

A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in Dolly’s name to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 1361 W. Market St. Akron. Ohio 44313.
