Doris Elizabeth Leonello

Doris Elizabeth Leonello passed away peacefully April 15, 2023, in Bath, OH. Born September 18, 1937, in Willoughby, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Elizabeth Freeman and her twin brother Donald (Donnie) Freeman.
Doris was the beloved wife of James Leonello.  They had been married 65 years. Together they raised four children, Rick (Hope), Lynn (Cecil), James (Josee), and Christopher (Tanya). She was grandmother to Joe, Josh, Ethan, Erin, Marquita, Jessica, and Brandon. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. 
Doris worked several jobs including switch-board operator, stenographer, and housekeeper. She was an excellent homemaker, raising 4 children, and later became a licensed, professional baker. She is famous for her wedding cakes, earning many praises from family, friends, and clients for making the best tasting and most beautiful cakes, gingerbread houses, and chocolate Easter treats. 
Doris loved children and she enjoyed making them smile with the sweet treats she offered when they visited her home. Building elaborate gingerbread houses with her grandchildren became a tradition. Her nephews still talk about Aunt Doris having all the ingredients for building their own chocolate sundaes and how she would lovingly let them make and eat as much as they wanted.
Doris enjoyed bowling as a member of a team. She loved traveling with friends, home decorating, watching wildlife, shopping, entertaining her family, and babysitting her grandchildren.
She was generous and always put her family first.  She was beautiful inside and out.  Her sweet smile and infectious laugh will be missed.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday April 28, 2023 at St. Victor Catholic Church, 3435 Everett Rd. Richfield, Ohio 44286 with Fr. Allen Corrigan officiating. Family and friends may visit from 5-8 PM on Thursday April 27, 2023 at the Billow Funeral Home, 85 N. Miller Rd. Fairlawn, Ohio 44333. Inurnment will take place at All Saints Cemetery in Northfield following the Mass.
