E. Elaine (Trunko) Wilson

Elaine Wilson passed on January 14, 2017 after a short illness.

Born in Bath, Ohio on August 11, 1927, she was the daughter of Eugene F. Trunko and Frances M. (Scheiderer) Trunko. Elaine was a graduate of Copley High School and attended The University of Akron.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred W. Wilson, Jr. and daughter Deborah. She is survived by her daughters, Karen (Dr. Richard) Dutchman and Marjorie (Dr. Mario) Garzia, six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Elaine was a member of the Akron Women's City Club, Progress Through Preservation of Greater Akron and a member of The University of Akron Foundation College Centered Committees.

In high school, she worked in her father's law office as his secretary and in college for Goodrich as a stenographer. After marrying Alfred, she worked for The American Red Cross in New York City. As her daughters grew, she began to volunteer for Child Guidance and Family Solutions, where she played such an active role, that she was soon hired and advanced to become Personnel Manager. After retiring, Elaine returned as a volunteer when she and Alfred were not traveling.

Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., FRIDAY from 5 to 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. SATURDAY at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be designated to The Deborah Kay Wilson Endowed Scholarship for Graduate Students, addressed to The University of Akron, Department of Development, Akron, Ohio 44325-2603.
