Gregory P Pattakos

Gregory P. Pattakos passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016, at the age of 71.

He was born on November 9, 1944 in the city of Chania on the island of Crete, Greece, the seventh child and third son of Maria (Markakis) Pattakos (of the village of Pervolia in Chania) and Panayiotis Pattakos (of the village of Ano Meros in Rethymnon, Crete).

Gregory fulfilled the American dream and immigrated to America. After years working in the restaurant business, he shifted gears to the auto glass business and eventually started a successful glass business of his own that he grew to multiple locations in three states. Greg was a well respected, generous, and kind man. He and his wife enjoyed spending time at their condo in Clearwater, FL.

Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and four sisters; Gregory is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Ellen (Huryn); son, Peter (Colleen) Pattakos; step-grandchildren, Naina and Anika Bhalla; and daughter, Christina (John) Pattakos-Ketcham.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 20th, at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S. Union St., Akron, OH 44304. Friends and family may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will be Monday, August 22nd at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Burial Park (Section 25) in Fairlawn, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
