James Howard Swinehart

James Howard Swinehart, 65, passed away April 15, 2022.

Born May 12, 1956 to Edgar and Gladys Swinehart, he lived his entire life in Akron. Jim graduated from Firestone High School in 1974, and had a 32-year career with Bridgestone Firestone in their Tire Test Lab. Jim cared deeply about his family and his community. He supported many local non-profits and sat on the Board of Caring for Kids for over 15 years. He enjoyed travel, cruises and auto racing.

Preceded in death by his parents; he is survived by his brother, William (Vicki) Swinehart of Lebanon, TN and his sister, Patricia (Stephen) Ameling of Akron. He leaves nephews, William (Amanda) Swinehart, Gregory Swinehart, Michael Swinehart, Trent Crowthers, and nieces, Carly and Dinara Ameling.

Friends may call from 9-10 am Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Billow FAIRLAWN Funeral Home, 85 N. Miller Rd, Fairlawn, Ohio 44333. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am at Rose Hill Burial Park with Bishop Stanley Robinson officiating.
