James W. 'Jim' Techau

James W. Techau, 54, passed away November 11, 2015.

Born in Akron January 29, 1961, Jim was the son of Wallace and Dorothy Techau. He was a graduate of Firestone High School. Jim was a lifelong resident of Akron, where he was father to two sons and a daughter, a Boy Scout leader, and an active member of the Moose Lodge. Jim worked most of his adult life as a glazer installing and repairing windows and other glass systems for residential and commercial clients including serving as field supervisor and project manager for several firms. He was a tireless worker who took pride in doing the job right. An outgoing person always able to strike up a conversation with those around him, he was extremely generous and was always willing to give of himself to help those he saw in need.

Preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy, and sister, Jeanne Louise; he is survived by his father, Wally; children, Christopher (Maureen), Lisa, and Jim "Jimmy" Jr; grandchildren, Noah and Carly; brother, Paul (Mary) and sisters, Kathi Michaels and Anne (Kathleen) Techau.

Services will be held 12 Noon TUESDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Peter Mills officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home MONDAY from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
