Josephine Colopy Renzi

Our Matriarch, Queen Mother, pillar of strength, greatest blessing, and treasure, Josephine Colopy Renzi, 89, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 30, 2014, to be with her Lord. We can only imagine the reunion that is taking place now that she has arrived in heaven.
Born to Robert and Gertrude Colopy, February 2, 1925, she graduated from Kenmore High School where she was a majorette and May Queen. She attended Akron University and was a member of Theta Phi Alpha Sorority. Jo enjoyed attending class reunions and having lunch with her sorority sisters.
She was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church, the Christ Child Society, and Theta Phi Alpha Sorority. She loved red convertibles, Coney dogs, root beer floats, potato chips, Barberton chicken, carmel corn, Lucky Charms and her cat, Boots. Her grandkids called her house junk food city and loved to visit. Jo was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, and her passing will leave a void in all of our hearts forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Renzi, the love of her life; daughter, Denice Renzi; son, Jimmy Renzi; sister, Helen Butz; and brothers, Robert and Jack Colopy.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Jackie (Nick) Carpas of Fairlawn, Patti (Steve) Carson, of Fort Myers, FL, Jo (Steve) Ostrov of Tallahassee, FL, Chris (Ralph) Coletta of Copley, Theresa Renzi of Fayetteville, NC, John (Kathy) Renzi of Akron, Marita (Jim) Parianos, of Copley; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and two on the way; sister, Gert Dann of Copley; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Vincent Catholic Church, 164 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44303. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
