Judy Elaine Genung

Judy Elaine Genung, age 88, peacefully passed away on February 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 6, 1935, in Akron, Ohio and was the only child of Deloss and Florence Frank. Judy graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1953. She attended Miami University and Medical Assistance School in Cleveland. Judy met her husband Bill while they were on dates with others but soon got together and married, spending the next 65 years together. Judy and Bill started a family and spent the past 57 years in Hudson. Judy was very active in the Hudson community and spent many of her years working with local family doctors. Anyone who knew Judy knew how much she loved the sunshine and the outdoors. She also loved playing bridge and enjoying social times with neighbors and friends. In retirement, Judy and Bill traveled extensively, visiting 49 of the states along with Canada and Mexico.

Judy was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She brought smiles and laughter to everyone with her quick wit. She had a way of making everyone she knew feel special. She had four children. Her oldest son Steve preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, David, Karen Schmidt (Peter), and Diane Powell (Dave) and her grandchildren, Karen Doolittle (Ricky), Kevin Powell, Jonathan Schmidt, Isabelle Schmidt and Jason Powell (Elizabeth), and her great grandchildren, Laina Doolittle and Weston Powell.

Memorial Services are SATURDAY, March 2nd at 1:00PM at Laurel Lake, 200 Laurel Lake Drive, Hudson, Ohio.
