June Ann Denious (nee Elias)
Surrounded by loved ones, June Ann Denious (nee Elias), 85, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 16, 2018. A loving wife, mother and grandmother will be remembered for her all overflowing wisdom, guidance, love, patience, and understanding. Born 1933 in Cleveland and an Akron area resident since 1940, June graduated from Buchtel High, worked with Elias Beverage Co., then the Akron Public Schools as a driving instructor and clerical assistant, where June's colleagues also appreciated her kindness and wisdom. But her major job was to be a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.
A devout Eastern Orthodox Christian, June was a near life-long active member of Akron St. George Church, where her parents the late John and Louise Elias played leading roles over many years. June was also preceded in death by her sister, Maxine; brothers, Richard and John; and Godson, Gary J. Owen.
Surviving to cherish June's memory are her loving husband, Robert of 61 years; sons, Robert and Richard; daughter, Janine; grandchildren, Cory, Brandon, Jessica, Chandler, Alexis, and Noah; sister, Cheryl L. Owen; brother, Atty. Eugene (Terry) Elias; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Elias; and nieces and nephews, Jay, Sam, Lyndell, Jon, Chris, Ty, Lisa, Todd, Shawn, John, Karrie, Zach, Nick, and Ashley.
Friends may call WEDNESDAY, 4 to 8 PM at St. George Orthodox Church, 3204 Ridgewood Rd, Fairlawn 44333 with a Trisagion service at 7 PM. Funeral service will be THURSDAY, 11 AM at St. George Orthodox Church, with The Very Rev. John Alassaf officiating. Friends may also call THURSDAY starting at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Lakewood Cemetery.
