Marcia Meenach Crane

Marcia Meenach Crane passed from this life into the next on December 23, 2020 in the presence of her lifelong partner and husband Kristan Crane. She led a full life, having been born in Madison, Indiana on December 12, 1937, she graduated from Murray State University in Kentucky in 1959 with a Bachelor's Degree in Music and a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She also earned her Master's Equivalency in Piano Accompaniment at the University of Akron. An accomplished pianist and educator, Marcia began her career in St. Joseph, Illinois where she taught for 5 years. After pausing her teaching career to raise her children, she resumed teaching in the Akron Public Schools as a string teacher in the North Hill community until her retirement in 2002. All of her adult life Marcia played piano at many venues, most recently playing piano for services at the Faith Fellowship Baptist Church. She taught countless children to play piano, including all three of her own children, and provided music in the lives of hundreds of school children, thereby affecting their lives for a lifetime. She enjoyed bridge and family times in Southern Indiana as well as travelling with her husband on more adventures than could be counted at locations all over the world. She was an avid reader and brought the love of books to all of her family. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Frances Meenach, and is survived by her husband, Kristan, her children, Randall Crane (Erin), Russell Crane (Elizabeth) and Gwenna Neal (Tracy), and her brother, Frank Meenach. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on SATURDAY, April 24, 2021 at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd Street, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio at which all are welcome with Rev. Malcolm Hall officiating. In Lieu of Flowers, we suggest a donation to the Salvation Army or Haven of Rest Ministries.
