Patricia Benson

Patricia F. Benson, age 92, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021.

Born December 17, 1928, she graduated from West High School and attended Greenbriar College for two years before beginning a modeling career in New York. Patricia was a proud member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher. She thrived on staying busy and enjoyed volunteering for different organizations, such as hospice or at Akron Children’s Hospital, assisting with the Charity Ball, and creating Pinky the Puppet for the children. She was a member of Tuesday Musical Club and a steadfast patron of the Akron Symphony. Patricia will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was the devoted wife of the late Robert E. Benson; cherished mother of Bret T. (Suzanne and family) Benson, and Heather R. (David Cueto) Benson; beloved grandmother of Katie A. and Grace T. Benson.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Henry and Eleanor Fritsch, and two siblings, Olive and Hank.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1361 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44313.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Patricia’s name are suggested to a charity of one’s choice.
