Robert P. Nordby

Robert P. Nordby, age 81, of Akron passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015.
Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, he was the son of Uacom and Evelyn (Evenson) Nordby.
Robert attended Stemimetz High School in Chicago, then went on to attend Augustana College. He joined the U.S. Marines where he retired with the rank of First Lieutenant; while in the Marines, he attended Flight School in Pensacola, Florida where he "earned his wings."
He had a real zest for life and sports, particularly golf.
"Big Daddy" is survived by his beloved wife Marlene J. (Marsh); son Thor (LeeAnn Foster); daughter and son-in-law Tiffany and Michael Takac; grandchildren Skylar and Taylan Takac; and dearest friend Edward Manko.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ed and Peter, and sister Mary.
Military Honors and inurnment will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 10:00 A.M., a Memorial Service will be held later in the day at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron, Ohio 44333 at 3:00 P.M.
