Robert Frank Whitmer, age 64, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 8, 2021.

He was born on July 6, 1956 in Akron, son of Margaret Ellen (nee Brightman) and the late Clair E. Whitmer.

Rob graduated from Albion College and from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. After practicing law in Michigan, he returned to Akron. He passed the Ohio bar examination and was admitted to practice law here in November of 1993. Rob was devoted to the care of his mother and his Christian faith. He enjoyed running in the metro parks with his beloved dog, Taiga. He will be deeply missed by friends, family and Taiga.

Rob was the cherished brother of Claire E. (Boots), Mary, Dorothy and Charles (Chuck).
