Ruth Ann Limpert Leach Obituary

Ruth Ann Limpert Leach had a long life of 101 years and passed away peacefully at home on November 19, 2021. She was born on October 19, 1920 to Herbert and Josephine Limpert in North Olmstead Ohio, the middle of five children.  Ruth graduated from Dover High School and worked in a variety of occupations before her marriage to Robert Leach in 1943. They settled in Stow, Ohio, enjoyed their home and family for 51 years, and were members of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron.

Ruth was a dedicated wife, homemaker, and mother for Herbert and Cynthia and was an active volunteer at Highland Elementary School including serving as president of the PTA and supporting the Girl Scout troop. The neighbors on Wilson Avenue will remember the dozens of cookies she baked for Christmas gifts plus the fruits and vegetables she and her husband harvested from their garden year after year.

When the children had grown more independent, she returned to the workforce as a loyal employee at Honadle Candy Company in Cuyahoga Falls and then Hygienic Manufacturing in Tallmadge.  She changed occupations later in life to a Certified Home Health Care Professional.  She was the oldest trainee to graduate from the certification course at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital.  Amazingly, Ruth served as a caregiver for many people younger than herself. She finally retired at the age of 90!

In 2011 Ruth moved from her long-time home in Stow to the Richfield Retirement Village where she enjoyed the fellowship of her neighbors and the activities at the Senior Center.  She was a loving grandmother and an inspiration to her friends. She had a well-lived life and her advice was to eat lots of fruits and vegetables and stay active.

She is survived by daughter, Cynthia Bayless of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren Matthew Bayless (partner Anna Roberts) of Charlottesville, VA, Paul Leach of Garrettsville, Amy Leach Rice (husband Chris) of Stow; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Leach of Cuyahoga Falls; four great grandchildren, Robby and Grayson Leach, Bailey Rice, Joseph Bayless; one great-great grandchild Ava Leach, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband Robert Leach, son Herbert Leach, grandchild Lauren Bayless and great-grandchild, Tyler Rice.

Special thanks for the loving care provided by her niece, Sandra Celebrezze, and for the Gardens of Western Reserve Hospice and Home Care Teams.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made toward the purchase of park benches to be installed in her memory at the Richfield Retirement Village. Send to Sandra Celebrezze 4132 Broadview Rd.  Richfield, OH 44286
